Although LASICON Consulting Engineers is a newly registered company in the Kingdom of Swaziland, LASICON Consulting Engineers through its staff members has expertise in a number of fields which they built over the years and is presently carrying out projects in the roads, infrastructure, civil, structural, and building. SIDUMO DLAMINI

RELEVANT SKILLS:

Sidumo has top-level leadership experience in Strategic Infrastructure Sectors across various industries. He has an excellent understanding and impressive wealth of experience in the construction industry throughout Swaziland and South Africa.

Sidumo was Managing Director at Bicon Consulting Engineers between 2011 and 2017, having been a Director at the company since 2004. As the Managing Director, Sidumo masterminded an unprecedented growth of the company. This included talent development in both Engineering and Support staff. During that same period, Mr Dlamini’s leadership and world class management skills were very instrumental in setting up of key organizations in the Swaziland Construction Industry such as the Construction Industry Council (CIC) and the Registration Council for Architects, Engineers, Surveyors and Allied Professionals (AESAP). He is also a board member of the CIC.   

Sidumo has gained a reputation for delivering value for money while formulating and implementing high-level business and project management strategies. In conjunction with internationally renowned partners such as CECI and Aurecon, he has been instrumental in the construction of several landmark infrastructure projects in Swaziland.  He is both a team leader and a team player.

GENERAL EXPRIENCE:

Mr. Mhlanga bring top-level experience gained from a variety of landmark projects over the last 12 years. Previous projects where Mr Mhlanga was involved include:

  • King Mswati III International Airport (including Airport Infrastructure, Access Roads and Utilities as well as the Non-Destructive Testing of the Airport Runway
  • International Convention Centre & Five Star Hotel project
  • Initial Construction of both the Service Centre at Nokwane and the Out Patient Department at the Mbabane Government Hospital
  • Woodlands Commercial Centre and Engen Filling Station in Mbabane
    Mr. Mhlanga also brings sound Project Management fundamentals that he is currently applying to Project such as the 6,000m2 retail Centre development at Buhleni and the upcoming 480 Dorm Rooms for Student Accommodation and adjacent Student Union Building for the AMADI University College at Ngwenya.

ENGINEER

GENERAL EXPRIENCE:

Mr Mdlovu has been practising as a Graduate Civil Engineer since 2018. He holds a Bachelor of Civil Engineering from the University of Pretoria and is currently focusing on the Detailed Designs for the proposed Staff Housing for Eswatini Electricity Company in Mankayane. The main deliverables for his function include:

  • Platform/Earthworks and related Retaining Structures Designs for both Staff Houses and car parking
  • Storm water and subsurface Drainage Designs
  • Access Road and Car Parking Civil Works Designs
  • Structural Drawing for the Staff Houses

Mr Mkhonta has more than 10 years of Site Supervision experience gained from various types of Civil & Structural Engineering projects around Eswatini. In addition to holding a bachelor of Technology in Civil Engineering from VAAL university of Technology (VUT), he has also gained invaluable knowledge and experience from previous projects which include several road projects in Ezulwini as well as the sewer and Potable Water Treatment Plant project for Eswatini Water Services Corporation in Nhlangano: His main duties include:
Inspection of Work onsite for Conformity to Designs

  • Coordination and subsequent Resolution of problems onsite, especially in response to Requests for information/ Clarity by Contractors
  • Liaising with Resident Engineers for Contract Administration

    Mr Jele offers nearly a decade of exprience as a Civil Engineering Technician in Eswatini. He has tremendous knowledge in the application of various Design and drafting software such as AutoCAD and Prokon,which he has practised on several projects throughout Eswatini such as the newly completed Baraka Hardware and proposed Staff Housing project for Eswatini Electricity Company in Mankayane. His main job functions include:

    • Coordination with LASICON engineers to prepare and produce required designs
    • Collaboration with Consultants from associated Architecture, Engineering, Quantity Surveying firms and Contractors
    • Incorporating Details on Architectural Structures as per Building Techniques
